The Sadness that is 2 months

Rinn hit the 2 month mark yesterday and it was almost all smiles and coos! Made Mommy really happy. Today, however, was the 2 month doctor's appointment which means immunization shots. It was so sad; I worked hard to keep tears back. The whole appointment was great, she was smiling and kicking and cooing at Dr. A -- then there was the shots. Her face went beet red and she screamed. This isn't the normal crying she does, this was PAIN. My heart breaks again just thinking about it. It went from her staring at me smiling to her looking at me for an instant in such intense pain then closing her eyes and screaming. Could anything be as sad as someone's first (post-birth) experience of pain? Could anything be worse than watching it happen? Well, yes, there are lots of things - but right now it does not feel that way. Even though we are home now, she still is feeling bad. She slept the whole way home, ate, and then started crying hard again. She feel back asleep for a while and then woke up crying again. It is hard to not let myself feel like she hates me since I allowed it. We gave her some Tylenol like Dr. A said we could, but the tears are still coming when she is awake. Please pray for our little one as she recovers and for us in helping her while keeping our sanity!

Isn't it awful? "Welcome to the fallen world, baby girl." I always tried to explain to Brie that the shot was better than getting polio, but she never seemed to believe me.
